Refund and Cancellation Policy
- Effective
- Last updated
The whole policy in three lines: paid plans renew monthly until you cancel; cancelling takes one click in Settings and keeps your access until the period ends; and your first paid charge is refundable for 14 days for any reason at all.
Everything below is the detail — including the renewal disclosures required by Florida law and the exceptions where we refund even outside the usual windows.
1.Automatic renewal — the disclosure
Your paid plan renews automatically. Unless you cancel, your subscription continues for successive periods of the same length as the one you bought, and your payment method on file is charged the then-current price at the start of each period.
Pro is $9 per month. Team is $29 per user per month. Both renew monthly on the anniversary of your first charge.
To stop renewal: Settings → Billing → Cancel subscription. One click, no phone call, no retention queue. It takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.
We disclose these terms before you pay, on the checkout page, and again in the email receipt for every charge. If you ever buy a term of twelve months or longer that renews for more than one month, we will also send a reminder between 30 and 60 days before the cancellation deadline, telling you that the subscription will renew and how to cancel — as Florida law requires for those terms.
2.How to cancel
Go to Settings → Billing and choose Cancel subscription. You will see the date access ends, and you can undo the cancellation any time before then. If you cannot reach that page for any reason, email billing@smartordercapture.com from your account address and we will cancel it for you — the date we receive your email is the cancellation date.
What happens next:
- You keep every paid feature until the end of the period you have paid for.
- You are not charged again.
- After that date the account moves to the Free plan. Your workflows are not deleted, but only the Free plan’s allowance stays enabled and cloud sync stops.
- Nothing about cancelling deletes your account. To delete it, and the data with it, use Settings → Account → Delete account.
Cancelling is not the same as requesting a refund. If you want money back as well, see below.
3.Subscription refunds
Your first paid charge — 14 days, no questions
If SmartOrderCapture is not what you expected, ask within 14 days of your first paid charge and we will refund it in full. You do not need to explain yourself. This applies once per customer, to the first charge on the account.
Renewals
Renewal charges are generally not refundable, because you can cancel at any time before one happens and we tell you in advance. Two exceptions, both of which we apply without argument:
- You did not mean to renew and you have not used it. Ask within 7 days of the charge, with no paid-feature usage in that period, and we refund it.
- Something on our side went wrong. A duplicate charge, a charge after a cancellation, the wrong plan or the wrong number of seats — we refund the difference in full, whenever you notice it.
Outages and defects
If a cloud feature you pay for is materially unavailable for a sustained period, tell us and we will credit or refund a fair share of that period. Note that workflows already synced to your device keep running locally when our cloud is down, so an outage does not usually stop your automations.
When we do not refund
- Periods during which an account was suspended or terminated for violating the Acceptable Use Policy.
- Fees for a period you used, where the request falls outside the windows above and nothing went wrong on our side.
- Losses caused by a workflow doing what you built it to do, or by a third-party application changing and breaking a workflow. See the Terms of Service.
- Charges by third parties, such as your mobile carrier or a service your workflow calls.
4.Marketplace purchases
A paid template is refundable within 48 hours of purchase if:
- you have not installed it; or
- you installed it and it does not work as its description said — including where it fails because it targets an application in a way the denylist blocks.
Outside that window we consider requests case by case, and we will always refund a template that turns out to be misdescribed, malicious, or in breach of our policies, however long ago you bought it.
Because templates are copied to your account on purchase, we cannot “take back” a template you have already inspected — please read the description and the step list before buying. When we refund a template, the corresponding creator share is reversed against the creator’s current or future payouts, as the Terms of Service provide.
5.How to request a refund
Email billing@smartordercapture.com from the address on your account, with the charge date and amount, or the template name. That is the whole process.
- We acknowledge within two business days.
- We decide within five business days and tell you why if the answer is no.
- Approved refunds go back to the original payment method. Your bank or card issuer usually posts it within 5 to 10 business days — that part is out of our hands.
- Refunds are issued in US dollars. If your card was billed in another currency, exchange rate movement between the charge and the refund can leave a small difference we cannot control.
6.Failed payments, price changes and chargebacks
Failed payments
If a charge fails, we retry it over the following days and email you. If it still has not succeeded after a reasonable period, paid features are suspended and the account moves to the Free plan. Your data is not deleted; updating your payment method restores access.
Price changes
We will give at least 30 days’ notice by email before a price change affects you. It takes effect at your next renewal, and you can cancel before then at the old price.
Chargebacks
Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank — a refund is faster than a chargeback, and we almost always just say yes. Where a chargeback is filed, we may suspend the account until it is resolved, and we will provide the payment processor with the transaction and usage records relevant to the dispute.
Taxes
Refunds include any tax we collected on the refunded amount. Where a tax authority does not permit us to reclaim tax already remitted, we refund the net amount and will say so.
7.Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law that cannot be waived by contract — including, where they apply to you, statutory cancellation or withdrawal rights, and rights under the Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act and Florida’s automatic-renewal statute. Where such a right gives you more than this policy does, that right applies.
